1958 Fender Stratocaster

Fender's original Stratocaster was so well-designed that there was virtually no room for improvement. Four years after its 1954 introduction, it had gone through only the most minor hardware changes, so it was a major event in mid 1958 when Fender added a third shade to the standard two-tone sunburst finish.

This example has body and neck dates of 4-58 and sports the new three-tone sunburst.

This instrument (inv. #EF7064)is in VG+ condition, with original body finish, oversprayed neck, replaced headstock decal and replaced volume pot (tone pots are original, with 304723 code). With original tweed hard case, it is offered at $19,500.
