1921 Martin 000-28K
The signature instrument of the Hawaiian craze that began in 1915 was the ukulele made of Hawaiian koa wood. Within a few years, mainland guitarmakers were using this beautifully grained and beautifully sounding tone wood in guitars, too.
Practically all of Martin's koa guitars were small-body models (0 and 00 size) set up for Hawaiian play. This 000 model, in Style 28, is one of only two known examples of a 000-28K.
This instrument (Inv. #AB4388) is in exceptionally fine condition. With original hard case it was originally priced at $25,000 and is now offered at the reduced price of $22,500.
