1958 Hermann Hauser II
Hermann Hauser II was the third of four generations of German luthiers. His father gained his greatest fame through guitars he made for Segovia, while Hauser II may be best known for a guitar played by Julian Bream from 1959-63.
This 1958 example has a striking "bear claw" spruce top and Brazilian rosewood back and sides. It was refinished during the 1980s by the late Frank Haselbacher of Voluntown, CT, who was a noted luthier making guitars under the Augustine label and doing repairs for noted performers including Segovia.
This guitar is in exceptionally fine condition. With hard case.
