Charlie Walker's Martin 000-28
Grand Ole Opry star Charlie Walker bought this Martin 000-28 new in 1953, at a time when he was about to make the transition from one of country music's top deejays to one of country's top singing stars. Charlie broke into the charts in 1956 with "Only You, Only You" and then had the biggest hit of his career in 1958 with "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down."
Charlie's primary guitar for many years was this sweet-sounding 000-28, with Brazilian rosewood back and sides. Somewhere along the way, he had it professionally refinished.
This instrument is in VG+ condition. It comes with a hard case and a photo of Charlie holding this guitar. It is priced at $7500.
