1960 ES-335
Gibson got it right on the first try in 1958, combining hollowbody and solidbody elements into a new semi-hollowbody style they called the ES-335. As a celebratory gesture, they introduced a striking cherry red finish on the model the next year.
Then, before they started messing with it, this example was made. The cherry finish is original. THe PAF humbuckers are original. So is the short pickguard and the Bigsby vibrola (which was the best you could get at the time). And the brown-covered hard case with pink plush lining.
Gibson started changing the 335 in 1961, but this one (inv. #EH5551)is the right one. SOLD.
