1830s Martin Presentation

Among its features are an ivory fingerboard, pearl and abalone inlay on top, ivory bridge, Stauffer-style headstock, clock-key neck adjustment and Brazilian rosewood back and sides. Herringbone trim, which would become the trademark of Martin's classic D-28 in the 20th century, borders the sides and back. The printed label has the 196 Hudson St. address and includes a handwritten serial number. This instrument is very similar to the guitar illustrated on page 6 of The Chinery Collection.
This guitar (inv. #AB7052) shows normal playing wear on the top but overall cosmetics are exceptionally good for a guitar of this age. It is SOLD
