Gruhn Guitars Martin Jimmie Rodgers
1997 Martin 000-45 Jimmie Rodgers

On the 50th anniversary of Jimmie Rodgers historic first recordings in Bristol, TN, Martin issued a limited edition guitar replicating Rodgers' custom-ordered 000-45. The Father of Country Music had his name inlaid in script on the fingerboard. He had "Thanks" put on the back so he could flip his guitar over after a song and express his appreciation to audiences.
This instrument (Inv. #AB4293) has back and sides of Brazilian rosewood and is No. 2 of the limited run (the first one went to the Rodgers museum). It is in near mint condition. Its original dealer wholesale cost was $12,500. With original hard case it is offered at the reduced price of $9,000.
