Gretsch Van Eps 7-string

19777 Gretsch George Van Eps 7-string

George Van Eps was the son of prominent classic banjoist Fred Van Eps, and he carved out his own reputation as a jazz guitarist. He became well known for his unique stylings on a seven-string instrument, and in 1968 Gretsch introduced a Van Eps signature model (also available in a six-string version).

By the time this 1977 example was made, the sunburst seven-string was the only version available, and only by special order. This guitar is in Near Mint condition and comes with paperwork. With original hard case, it is offered for $3,500.
