Gruhn Guitars Loar F-5

1924 Loar-signed Gibson F-5

The Gibson F-5 mandolins that are signed and dated by the man who designed them, Lloyd Loar, are acknowledged by most American players as the epitome of mandolin design.

This Loar F-5 was signed by Loar on March 24, 1924, and it exemplifies the F-5's ultimate combination of aesthetics, power and tone. As befits an instrument of this quality, it has been played and it has been refretted, but it is in otherwise excellent original condition. It is fitted with a Virzi Tone Producer. With original original rectangular hard case, this instrument (inv. #MF7331) is offered at $200,000.
