1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard
A simple change in finish color in 1958, from opaque gold to translucent cherry sunburst, resulted in one of the all-time classic electric guitars -- the Gibson Les Paul Standard.
With bookmatched two-piece maple top, two patent-applied-for humbucking pickups, nickel-plated hardware, faded cherry sunburst finish and, of course, the sound that inspired the creation of modern rock and roll, this 1958 example literally sets the standard for the ages.
This instrument (inv. #EB5737) is in VG+ condition with a circa 1956 Les Paul hard case (SOLD).
